The game was to be broadcast live on SEC Network+ starting at 5 p.m.
The season opener featured the debut of a new-look Kentucky roster that brought only two players back from Kyra Elzy’s final year as head coach.
When Kenny Brooks replaced Elzy, he brought with him his All-America point guard at Virginia Tech, Georgia Amoore. Also following Brooks to the UK roster were center Clara Strack and his daughter, guard Gabby Brooks.
Via the transfer portal, UK’s first-year head coach also recruited guards Dazia Lawrence (Charlotte), Jordan Obi (Penn) and Dominika Paurova (Oregon State) and forwards Teonni Key (North Carolina) and Amelia Hassett (Eastern Florida). Joining that group are incoming freshmen guards Tanah Becker and Lexi Blue and 6-foot-7 center Clara Silva. Returning from last season are guards Saniah Tyler and Cassidy Rowe.
Paurova will miss this season after suffering a knee injury playing internationally last summer, and Obi is out until at least January with a leg injury.
