Live updates: Kansas City electric as Chiefs fans eye bid for historic Super Bowl 3-peat

Can you feel the excitement of Kansas City? It’s game day and the metro is painted red as the Chiefs make their seventh consecutive appearance in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

At stake in the clash with rival Buffalo Bills is a trip to the Super Bowl and a bid for a historic Super Bowl three-peat for the Chiefs.

The parking lots to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium open at 1 p.m. The stadium gates will open at 3:30 p.m. and kickoff will be at 5:30 p.m.

The game will be broadcast by CBS and Paramount+. It will be available on KCTV (Channel 5) in Kansas City and KWCH (Channel 12) in Wichita.

The game will also be broadcast on radio via KFNZ (96.5 FM) and WDAF (106.5 FM) in the KC area, and KNSS (98.7 FM) in the Wichita area.

The weather will be more hospitable than last week’s game against the Houston Texans. Fans will still need to dress warm. Afternoon temperatures are expected to be hovering around freezing, with with wind chills in the upper 20s. At kickoff, temperatures are expected to be around 30 degrees with wind chills in the mid-20s.
