Salah show sees Liverpool destroy West Ham

Scorers: DĂaz 30', Gakpo 40', Salah 44', Alexander-Arnold 54', Jota 84'

Liverpool delivered a 5-0 win away at West Ham.

A bright start to the game saw both sides go close to opening the scoring, with West Ham's second-string goalkeeper Alphonse Areola making three top saves against the Liverpool attack.

The breakthrough came just before the 30-minute mark, when Luis DĂaz attempted a one-two in the box with Curtis Jones and although it was cut out, it rebounded fortunately for the Colombian to score.

Looking for the equaliser, West Ham's Mohammed Kudus let fly with a shot from outside the area that crashed against the post.

But almost immediately afterwards, a superb cross from DĂaz picked out Mohamed Salah in the box, and his nutmeg on Konstantinos Mavropanos played in Cody Gakpo to supply the finish.

After Alexis Mac Allister had done well to win the ball back high up the pitch, Salah then had a goal of his own as he put his foot on the ball and took a second to curl home the finish.

In the second half, a fourth goal came from a more unlikely source as Trent Alexander-Arnold let fly from the edge of the box and his shot deflected in off Max Kilman.

Liverpool's fifth was created once again by Salah, the Egyptian making mincemeat of the Hammers' backline once again, before slipping in Diogo Jota inside the penalty area, who finished into the top right-hand corner.

Arne Slot's side now sit eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, with a game in hand on their rivals.

Wolves walk away with a point

Scorers: Bentancur 11', Johnson 45+3'; Hwang 7', Strand Larsen 87'

A late goal from Jørgen Strand Larsen earned Wolves a well-deserved draw at Tottenham.

Spurs hosted Wolves with Vitor Pereira's side having turned things around since the Portuguese coach's arrival pre-Christmas.

That New Manager Bounce kept on going early on as Hwang fired in the opener on his first start since August.

That lead didn't last long as Rodrigo Bentancur headed in from a corner.

Ange Postecoglou's side had the chance to take the lead just before the break but Heung-min Son's penalty was saved by Jose Sa.

Right before half time however, Spurs went into the lead as Brennan Johnson finished after great work from Dejan Kulusevski.

Spurs thought they had a third in the second half but Kulusevski's strike was cleared off the line by Hugo Bueno.

Wolves piled on the pressure late on and got their reward with a few minutes to go as Strand Larsen netted a clinical equaliser.

New heights for Forest

Scorers: Wood 15', Gibbs-White 61'

Nottingham Forest went second in the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton.

Forest went to Merseyside with Nuno's men knowing that three points could take them into second place in the table.

It was a slow start at Goodison but things livened up on 15 minutes as Anthony Elanga and Chris Wood teamed up for the New Zealand international to finish.

On the hour mark Forest doubled their lead as Morgan Gibbs-White finished off another fine team move.

Late drama at the Cottage

Scorers: RaĂşl Jimenez 41', Wilson 72'; Evanilson 51', Ouattara 89'

Fulham and Bournemouth played out an entertaining 2-2 draw on the banks of the Thames.

In-form Bournemouth went to west London looking for a win that would take them above Newcastle and into fifth place.

It was the away side who broke the deadlock on the half hour mark by James Hill's header was ruled out for a foul.

Right before the break however it was Fulham who took the lead as Raul Jimenez headed home.

Bournemouth got themselves level just after the break as Evanilson stuck into the roof of the net.

The Cherries lead didn't last long however as Harry Wilson headed in brilliantly to give the Cottagers an advantage.

Bournemouth levelled again late on though, as Dango Ouattara capitalised on a mistake to snatch a draw.

Eze excellence

Scorers: Chalobah 30', Eze 52'; Dibing 15'

Eberechi Eze's stunning strike was enough to see Crystal Palace beat Southampton 2-1.

Ivan Jurić's Saints side were stranded at the bottom of the Premier League on just six points as they went the short trip to south London.

After a lively start it was the away side who took the lead as Tyler Dibling found the back of the net on his return to the XI.

Palace got themselves back in it on the half hour mark as Trevoh Chalobah tapped in after Aaron Ramsdale was beaten to the ball at a corner.

The hosts really should have taken the lead just before the break though, as Daniel MuĂąoz failed to score from just three yards out.

After the break Palace netted almost immediately as Eberechi Eze fired in from the edge of the area.

Back to winning ways

Scorers: Savinho 21', Haaland 74'

Manchester City did just enough to beat struggling Leicester as they won 2-0 on Pep Guardiola's 500th match in charge.

There was a huge let-off for City on 18 minutes as Jamie Vardy sneaked in but saw his shot hit the side-netting.

But it was City who broke the deadlock just moments later as Savinho was quickest to a loose ball and fired home.

Leicester weren't deterred though and almost equalised as Facundo Buonanotte hit the post with a header.

Into the second half and once again Van Nistelrooy's side were looking dangerous in attack as Stephy Mavididi fired over.

James Justin then thought he had bagged an equaliser, only for his close-range effort to be cleared off the line by Manuel Akanji.

Vardy had the best chance of the lot however, as he got too much contact on the ball and shot over from just five yards out.

But against the run of play City got a second as Haaland headed in after a fine cross from Savinho.

Monday sees three more games with headline encounter coming from Old Trafford as Manchester United take on Newcastle.
