Line Combinations: Jets vs. Red Wings

The 27-11-2 Winnipeg Jets will take on the 16-18-4 Detroit Red Wings from Canada Life Centre on Saturday evening.

The second test of a season-high, eight-game homestand will be an important one for Winnipeg, which is looking to retain first place in the NHL and get back in the winning column following a disappointing 4-3 overtime setback to the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday.

Connor Hellebuyck will once again get the start in goal, where he will look to rebound following a difficult showing on Thursday. He will aim to pickup his league-leading 25th win of the season and help the Jets to their league-leading 28th victory.

It would also be Hellebuyck's 300th career win, and come against the team based right out of his backyard in Michigan.

Winnipeg has held top spot in the NHL standings for 21 of the last 23 days and will look to retain that mark against a disappointing Detroit club.

With Mason Appleton, Dylan Samberg and Haydn Fleury still injured, the Jets are expected to use the lines they rolled with on Thursday, while hoping for a better result.
