Lille predicted XI v Brest: Mitchel Bakker and Angel Gomes out, Edon Zhegrova benched?

Lille OSC must contend with plenty of absentees as they prepare to face Stade Brestois on Friday evening. Mitchel Bakker is out of the encounter through suspension, meaning that Aïssa Mandi is likely to come in at right-back, with Tiago Santos a long-term absentee after suffering an ACL injury earlier in the campaign.

As well as Bakker, Angel Gomes is also out. The England international confirmed the injury layoff on social media last week and he is not expected to return until the start of 2025. With Ethan Mbappé and Nabil Bentaleb also out, it means that Bruno Genesio’s options in midfield are somewhat limited.

Ayyoub Bouaddi is expected to start alongside Benjamin André in the pivot with Rémy Cabella playing in the No.10 role. Ahead of next week’s UEFA Champions League encounter with Sturm Graz, Edon Zhegrova may have to settle for a place on the bench.
