Game of the week: Lille OSC v Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday 19:45 (UK)

Lille are yet to be tested in Ligue 1, despite an physically exterting start to their campaign. Having finished fourth, LOSC have had to go through the UEFA Champions League play-offs, playing four European games in the space of a month. Against Reims and then Angers, that has proven inconsequential with Bruno Genesio able to rotate his side and rest key players. Lille have looked solid and well organised and so far, that has been enough, however, PSG represent a different challenge entirely.

Les Parisiens have scored 10 and conceded just one in their first two Ligue 1 games and occupy a familiar position at the top of the table. Whilst they no longer have Kylian Mbappé – their get-out-of-jail-free card – they are working better collectively and are less reliant on those clutch moment that the Real Madrid forward once provided. There are glittering individual performances, such as those from Bradley Barcola and João Neves in particular and coupled with this new-found collective strength, PSG will be confident of extending their era of domestic dominance. They should have too much for a LOSC side that will either be heavily rotated, which feels unlikely, or exhausted from their midweek exploits.
