Lightning Top Target Lands PTO With Maple Leafs
When looking at the Tampa Bay Lightning's current roster, it is fair to argue that they could use another skilled winger. Because of this, one player who has been viewed as a potential free-agent target for them is Max Pacioretty.

However, Pacioretty is one step closer to signing with one of the Lightning's top rivals, as he has landed a professional tryout (PTO) agreement with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Pacioretty, 35, could have been a perfect PTO addition for the Lightning. This is because the veteran winger would have given them another strong option to consider for their middle six and power play. With the Lightning needing more secondary offensive production, taking a look at Pacioretty could have been worthwhile.
Pacioretty appeared in 47 games this past season with the Washington Capitals, where he had four goals to go along with 23 points.
However, the Lightning still have some decent PTO options worht considering on the free-agent market. Some notable free agents who are still available for the taking include James van Riemsdyk, Kailer Yamamoto, Kevin Labanc, Blake Wheeler, and Mike Hoffman.
