Lightning Should Swing Big Trade For Sharks Star

Sharks star forward Mikael Granlund played a role in the Lightning's loss, as he recorded the primary assist on Mario Ferraro's goal that gave San Jose a 2-0 lead. With the Lightning needing more offense, Granlund is a player they should consider targeting.
Granlund, 32, is a pending unrestricted free agent and is standing out as a prime rental candidate for contenders. If he does not sign an extension once the deadline is here and is made available for trade, the Lightning should make a real push for him.
Granlund could fit anywhere in the Lightning's top nine if acquired, as he can play all three forward positions. However, when looking at Tampa Bay's current lineup, he could be a great fit on their second line with Brandon Hagel and Anthony Cirelli. In addition, he would be an obvious choice for their power play as well.
Granlund is having an excellent season with the Sharks, posting 11 goals and 35 points in 39 games. The Lightning would love to add this kind of offense to their group, so they should consider pursuing him. However, they would need to get creative to fit him financially.
