With Vasilevskiy out, the Lightning also announced that EBUG Kyle Konin will be the Lightning's backup goaltender for the contest.
This is tough news for the Lightning, as they need every point they can get right now in the tight Eastern Conference standings. Thus, being without their best goalie against Chicago is not ideal in the slightest.
In 37 games this season with the Lightning, Vasilevskiy has a 20-15-2 record, a 2.34 goals-against average, and a .916 save percentage.
