Lightning Should Reunite With Blackhawks' Pat Maroon
During this past off-season, former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Pat Maroon signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. This was after he had four goals, 16 points, and 82 hits in 51 games split between the Minnesota Wild and Boston Bruins in 2023-24.

With Maroon being a pending unrestricted free agent and the Blackhawks at the bottom of the NHL standings, he could be made available as we get closer to the deadline. The Lightning's bottom six needs a boost and more grit, so they should consider reuniting with Maroon.
The Lightning would also benefit by bringing back Maroon because of his excellent leadership qualities and immense post-season experience. Maroon has notably won three Stanley Cup championships, including two with the Bolts.
If the Lightning acquired Maroon, he could fit perfectly on their fourth line with Zemgus Girgensons and Luke Glendening. He would undoubtedly make that line far more challenging to go up against because of his tenacity and overall toughness.
Maroon, 36, has appeared in 36 games this season with the Blackhawks, where he has two goals, 10 points, 39 penalty minutes, and 66 hits.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Lightning end up making a push for Maroon near the deadline from here. In 280 games over four seasons with the Lightning, he had 29 goals, 82 points, 415 penalty minutes, and 511 hits.
