Lightning Reassign Young Forward To AHL

The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced that they have reassigned forward Gage Goncalves to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Goncalves, 23, was placed on waivers by the Lightning on Monday and passed through unclaimed. As a result, he is heading back to Syracuse.

Goncalves has one goal, one assist, and a minus-1 rating in 26 games with the Lightning this season. He also has six assists and a minus-1 rating in five games with the Syracuse Crunch in 2024-25.

Goncalves will now look to impress following his demotion to the Crunch. If he does well, it could open the door for him to receive another recall to the Lightning's roster soon.
