Goncalves, 23, has appeared in 26 games this season with the Lightning, posting one goal, one assist, and a minus-1 rating. He has also played in five games this season with the Syracuse Crunch, where he has six assists. This is after he had 13 goals and a career-high 58 points in 69 games last season with Syracuse.
Goncalves is one of the Lightning's top prospects, so it will be fascinating to see if he clears waivers from here. When noting that he is a young forward with good upside, it certainly seems possible that another club could take a flier on him. If not, he will be heading back to the Crunch from here.
