According to The Fourth Period, the Lightning are one of four teams linked to Anaheim Ducks defenseman Brian Dumoulin. The other three clubs reportedly connected to Dumoulin are the Winnipeg Jets, Dallas Stars, and Edmonton Oilers.

Dumoulin, 33, is a prime trade candidate. This is because he is a pending unrestricted free agent on a rebuilding Ducks that does not have a playoff spot. Thus, it would make sense if he's a player on the Bolts' radar.

Dumoulin would be a nice addition to the Lightning's lineup if acquired. This is because he is a very dependable defensive defenseman who can play top-four minutes and thrives on the penalty kill. He is also capable of playing both the left and right side, so he could fit virtually anywhere in Tampa Bay's lineup if acquired.

Dumoulin has appeared in 40 games this season with the Ducks, posting eight assists, 40 hits, 65 blocks, and a plus-2 rating.
