Lightning Should Claim Intriguing Canadiens Forward

The Montreal Canadiens have placed Rafael Harvey-Pinard on waivers. With the Tampa Bay Lightning needing more forward depth, they should consider claiming the 25-year-old.

Harvey-Pinard just completed a conditioning loan with the Canadiens' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Laval Rocket. It was the 2019 seventh-round pick's first game action of the season, as he was recovering from a broken leg.

Harvey-Pinard was limited to only 45 games this past season, where he had two goals and 10 points. While his production was down, there is clear reason to believe that he could heat up with a change of scenery. Just back in 2022-23 with the Habs, he broke out, posting 14 goals and 20 points in 34 games.

With the Lightning needing more secondary scoring and help on the wing, they should consider taking a flier on Harvey-Pinard. He has shown not too long ago that he has the potential to put the puck in the net and could work nicely in the Lightning's middle six because of it.

Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see what happens with RHP from here. He could be a nice low-risk, high-reward player for the Bolts to add.
