LFP dismiss Marseille’s Chancel Mbemba sanction

According to a report by La Provence, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) have dismissed Olympique de Marseille’s financial sanction on Chancel Mbemba (30) following the player’s appeal.

Marseille had sanctioned Mbemba with a 23-day salary reduction after they accused the player of skipping medical examinations following his return from international duty with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The LFP reportedly delivered their verdict on Friday and demanded that Marseille pay the centre-back the amount he is owed. Tensions between Mbemba and the club are thought to be high despite the centre-back’s return to training with the professional team.

Montpellier consider move for Chancel Mbemba

Roberto De Zerbi has made it clear that he will not be relying on the defender this season, which has led to Montpellier HSC being linked with a move for Mbemba. La Paillade are now managed by former Marseille interim Jean-Louis Gasset who is a big admirer of the Congo international.
