The game was held at the League Two side's home ground as Neil MacFarlane’s men were fresh off of their 2-2 draw against Burnley Under-21s in the Premier League Cup.

Isaac Holland pulled a goal back for us late on but we could not find the equaliser.

Ethan Laidlaw had an early attempt on target which was saved comfortably by the goalkeeper.

The Leyton Orient goalkeeper was called into action again as he thwarted Laidlaw’s attempts to go round him as the young striker was through on goal.

Zech Obiero had been controlling the midfield for the home side and the central midfielder drove through the heart of our young Bees laying the ball off for Ollie O’Neill who had the easy job of crossing to the unmarked Joe Pigott and he finished past Winterbottom.

As the half wore on, neither side could fashion any real chances worthy of note and a Iwan Morgan strike from just outside the box which flew over, just before the first-half whistle underlined this.

We started the second half in a similar way to the first period and went close through Morgan whose shot on the turn from just inside the box beat the goalkeeper but whistled past the post.

The home side went down the other end to have their first chance of the new half and it was O’Neill who curled a shot that only just went wide.

Obiero doubled the hosts’ lead on the hour as he swept home from just outside the box.

As the we drew closer to the end of the game, we pulled a goal back and it was finely worked. Second-half substitute Kyreece Lisbie delivered a great cross which found the head Holland who steered the ball in.

Holland was in the thick of the action again as he pressured the goalkeeper into making an error which almost led to a chance for the forward.

The game would end 2-1 as our young Bees were defeated despite the late pressure to grab an equaliser.
