Lewandowski’s camp clears the air on Barcelona chef change story – ‘A joke in bad taste’
Reports have recently surfaced suggesting that Barcelona are searching for a new chef to cater to the men’s first team, allegedly at the request of manager Hansi Flick.
These claims stemmed from suggestions that Robert Lewandowski had expressed dissatisfaction with the current kitchen arrangements, reportedly asking the coach to bring in a new culinary professional for the squad.
However, those close to the Polish forward have dismissed these rumours outright.
Nothing as such was said
It appears the speculation gained traction due to its timing, coinciding with April Fool’s Day, a period known for playful and often exaggerated stories in Spain.
The narrative of Lewandowski influencing the club’s catering decisions was viewed by his representatives as unfounded and potentially damaging.
According to those close to the striker, the idea of his involvement in such matters is not only baseless but also far removed from his actual priorities.
“April Fool’s Day was recently celebrated in Spain, and I see the idea that journalists are creating stories about Robert Lewandowski participating in the club’s catering as a joke,” those close to the player said as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
“Even so, it is a joke in bad taste, which unfortunately has reached the media,” they added.
Lewandowski focused on his performance
Lewandowski’s focus remains firmly on football. As Barcelona prepare for the critical second half of the season, he is dedicated to performing at his best and contributing to the team’s success.
The Polish international has always been known for his professionalism, prioritising his fitness, performance, and team cohesion over off-field distractions.
“During our time in Spain, we have learned not to take many media stories too seriously, and this is another example.
“The truth is that Robert Lewandowski is fully focused on preparing for the second half of the season and, together with the entire team, showing his quality on the pitch.”
The timing of these claims, alongside the context of April Fool’s Day, suggests that the story may have been sensationalised or taken out of proportion.
Regardless, Lewandowski’s representatives have emphasised that he is entirely committed to his role on the pitch.
