Let's remember Anderson Varejao's good times with the Warriors

Anderson Varejao’s time with the Golden State Warriors is at an end. As reported by The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday, the veteran big man has been waived to make room for D-League point guard Briante Weber, who will provide necessary depth at the point after excelling with the Sioux Falls Skyforce this season. The move makes lots of sense for the Warriors — they had a glut of big men contributing relatively little and have needed to add another point guard for some time. Varejao was simply the odd man out.

It’s hard to argue that the Warriors will miss him on the court. Varejao played for the team a few weeks shy of 12 months and saw action in just 36 games with a total of 76 points, 77 rebounds, and 51 fouls. Plus, those numbers do not include his poor minutes during the 2016 NBA Finals, when he looked absolutely incapable of stopping his former teammates with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Yet the Anderson Varejao Experience was not all bad for the Warriors and their fans. Let’s remember the good times through the magic of photography.
