Leny Yoro: Real Madrid’s wage offer vs Manchester United proposal
An insight into the considerable difference in the financial offers put to defensive sensation Leny Yoro by the respective boards at Real Madrid and Manchester United has on Sunday been provided.
The name of youngster Yoro of course took its place front and centre in the transfer headlines across Europe this past summer.
As much came after the Frenchman made clear his plans to depart LOSC Lille.
The aforementioned Real Madrid, in turn, quickly established themselves as the favourites for his signature, considered a near-certainty to land Yoro at one point.
In the end, however, the 18-year-old opted to take his talents to England, with Manchester United.
And, this weekend, an insight into precisely why has been forthcoming online.
On the club front, the widespread understanding at the time of Yoro’s move was that the board at Old Trafford were simply willing to put more money on the table than their counterparts at the Santiago Bernabéu.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then Man United’s offer to the player himself also dwarfed that of Real Madrid.
As per a report from Marca, Los Blancos proposed a contract to Yoro worth around €2.5 million-per-year.
The deal which the defender ultimately put pen to paper on in Manchester, on the other hand, is worth close to €9.5 million-per-year.
