Lens interested in NEC Nijmegen’s Sontje Hansen
RC Lens have been hit by a number of serious injuries to their attacking players this season. Martín Satriano, brought in from Inter Milan in the summer, suffered an ACL injury at the start of the season, ruling him out of the entirety of the campaign. Rémy Labeau Lascary has also recently suffered a major injury and it is now looking unlikely that he will feature again this season, whilst Wesley Saïd has also had his fair share of injuries to contend with.
Those injuries, coupled with the sale of Elye Wahi to Olympique de Marseille in the summer transfer window, mean that Lens will likely have to dip into the market this January. According to Foot Mercato, a target has been identified – NEC Nijmegen’s Sontje Hansen (22).
A right-winger by trade, the winner of the U17 World Cup Golden Boot with the Netherlands back in 2019, joined NEC Nijmegen on a free transfer, following the expiry of his contract at formative club Ajax back in the summer of 2023. Capable of featuring across the forward line, Hansen has played 18 times this season, scoring five goals and registering one assist. He is valued at €5m.
