Leicester boss provides fitness update ahead of Crystal Palace clash
Steve Cooper has revealed that there are no changes to Leicester City’s availability for this weekend’s return to action.
They face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday and can report a clean bill of health following the international fixtures.
Odsonne Édouard will be unavailable against his parent club and Bobby De Cordova-Reid is a doubt due to his late return from Jamaica’s meeting with Honduras.
“The players have reported back. Some are still recovering from their games which is normal and some, like Bobby, have had long travel so we’ll see with him on Friday,” Cooper told reporters.
“Every club loses a lot of players and they report back in a staggered schedule. We’re no different and we’re just adapting through these weeks.
“We try to use the break wisely with the players who remain here like Jamie [Vardy]. He trained for a week or so before his injury, then trained once and started in the Premier League.
“We definitely used the time to get some training into him and getting him available. His application is great, the training has been good and hopefully he’ll be a lot stronger now.”
Cooper also confirmed that although long-term absentee Patson Daka is now out of his protective boot and no longer using crutches, he remains a long way off a return to training.
