Lee Carsley names England squad for November games
These will be Carsley’s last games in charge before Thomas Tuchel takes over. The former Everton midfielder told reporters that the German tactician had no input in the squad.
Carsley has recorded three wins and one defeat from his four League B Group 2 games, overseeing two victories against Finland and one over Ireland,
They suffered a surprising home loss to Greece and are three points behind them in the standings.
Carsley has given maiden call-ups to Southampton centre-half Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall, who has been in immaculate form this season.
He knows Harwood-Bellis from the Under-21s. The former Manchester City starlet captained England to victory at the 2023 European U21 Championship.
Hall has been fantastic on the left flank for Newcastle. He will need to bring that form to the England team, possibly providing a solution to a position that has been a headache for some time.
