Lecce coach Marco Giampaolo previews Roma showdown: “We will have to be really good.”

Lecce boss Marco Giampaolo spoke to the media on the eve of the match against Roma.

“I want to wish Edoardo Bove a speedy recovery. I couldn’t do it on Sunday and I want to do it today,” said the Italian technician at the start of his presser.

“A tough match awaits us in Rome,” he added.

“I watched the matches under Ranieri, against Napoli and Atalanta Roma played two good games,” he continued.

“Against Atalanta, Roma were in the game until the end. They also played a good game against Tottenham.”

“Roma are a strong team that are low in the standings by chance, we have a very tough match ahead of us. We must be ready in terms of personality.

“Ranieri is capable of bringing the team together, he is very in tune with the city he represents. He will have the whole stadium behind him. We will have to be really good tomorrow.”

“Ranieri? When you get to coach on the crest of the wave at over 70 years of age in Serie A it means that you have had the ability to always be young mentally.”

“He has a lot of experience also in the European field. I had the opportunity to have dinner with him on a few occasions, he is a man of the highest caliber.”
