Lecce bid for Dorgu replacement as Man United talks continue
Lecce have reportedly submitted an opening bid to Portuguese Primeira Liga side Estrela da Amadora for full-back Danilo Veiga as a potential replacement for Patrick Dorgu, who Manchester United are trying to sign in the January transfer window.
Reports on Wednesday morning confirmed that Lecce have turned down an official bid from Manchester United for Dorgu, but the two clubs remain in talks as the Serie A side hope to secure a fee in the region of €40m for the 20-year-old Denmark international.
Lecce bid for Veiga: Replacement for Man United-linked Dorgu?
Planning for his departure, Lecce have reportedly sent a bid to Estrela da Amadora for Danilo Veiga, who is a right-back by trade, but is considered the current replacement for the versatile Dorgu.
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Veiga has also been of interest to Portuguese sides Sporting CP and Braga.
The 22-year-old Veiga is currently tied to a contract that runs until the summer of 2027 and has made 15 appearances in the Portuguese top flight so far this season.
