LCBO investigates sign found in store calling for ousting of Senators' owner
How far are citizens of Ottawa going to get the message out there that Senators’ owner Eugene Melnyk needs to step down?
Well, apparently they are willing to risk their own employment to do so.
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario located on Rideau Street in Ottawa was met with an anti-Melnyk sign on Saturday.

I mean, if you could use three sentences to describe the state of Ottawa in the middle of July, these might be the best ones to use at this current time.
The LCBO has since responded with a message regarding the worker who placed this sign inside their store.
Recently an individually-created product display sign that referenced @MelnykEugene was posted at an @lcbo Ottawa store. This is against our policies & values. We are looking into the matter further & offer sincere apologies to Mr. Melnyk, the @ottawasenators, fans & customers.

However, the apology to Sens’ fans from the LCBO was not necessary.
Don’t apologize to fans. We want #MelnykOut #StopHoldingOttawasTeamHostage

We support your individual employee. They better not be disciplined.

Senators fans have been at ends with the team owner for a number of reasons. From threatening to relocate, to his organization’s seemingly poor handling of star captain Erik Karlsson, there have not been a lot of plusses coming out of Melnyk’s regime of late.
So, given the toxic relationship between fanbase and owner, it should be expected that the people of Ottawa continue to enjoy refreshing beverages, miss hockey, and campaign for new ownership.
This LCBO sign culprit seems to have created a motto for Senators fans.
