Lazio midfielder Nicolo Rovella has been called up for the senior Italy squad for the first time in his career.

Reward For Lazio Exploits

The 22-year-old has been representing the Azzurri across all age groups from the U17 all the way to the U21, but had yet to join the first team. However, the young midfielder has been making leaps and bounds since the start of the season, establishing himself as a pillar at the heart of Marco Baroni’s tactical system.

Although he only contributed with a single assist in his 13 outings for the Biancocelesti, Rovella has been earning plaudits for his influential displays in the middle of the park. The Genoa youth product has been acting as the lynchpin that connects the team’s various lines.
