Lazio Join Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma & Napoli In The Race To Sign Genoa Star

Lazio are ready to join Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma, and Napoli in the race to sign Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that Gudmundsson is on Lazio’s radar for a big name summer signing in attack.

Gudmundsson looks all but certain to be on the move this summer.

The Icelander’s form last season – he scored fourteen goals and assisted seven for Genoa – has attracted significant transfer interest.

The bulk of this is coming from within Serie A, although Premier League clubs are also sitting up and taking notice.

The Corriere note that Genoa already rejected a 25 million offer for Gudmundsson from Fiorentina in January.

The Ligurian club will aim to cash in for no less than 30 million if they sell the former AZ Alkmaar forward.

And in reality, Genoa will want much more.

With the interest and competition growing, the Grifone are eyeing up a big payday.

Lazio Rival Inter, Juventus, Napoli & Roma For Albert Gudmundsson

The club most strongly linked with Gudmundsson this summer has been Inter.

Reportedly, the 26-year-old is something of a dream target in attack for the Nerazzurri. And Gudmundsson himself would be keen on the move.

But there are a couple factors that would make the move difficult.

Not just the price tag. Inter must also make room in their squad to sign Gudmundsson, most likely by selling Marko Arnautovic.

And then there are all of Juventus, Roma, and Napoli tracking the Icelander as well.

Moreover, the Corriere report, Lazio have also shown a serious interest in Gudmundsson’s signature.

The newspaper anticipate that the Biancocelesti will try and make a high profile attacking signing for new coach Marco Baroni this summer.

The capital club have made contact to try and sign controversial Manchester United forward and Juventus target Mason Greenwood.

And there have also been contacts regarding Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic, who had looked on the verge of a move to Inter last summer.

But according to the Corriere, Lazio have also come forward with an interest in Gudmundsson.
