Lazio make initial contact for James Rodriguez

Serie A side Lazio have made initial contact for the potential signature of former Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

It was reported recently that both Lazio and Napoli have been offered a chance to sign Rodriguez and that there was no keen interest from either clubs.

But it seems as if Lazio’s interest has somewhat emerged. Daniele Longo has reported that the Roman club now want Rodriguez and Claudio Lotito is interested in the possibility.

There has been initial contact with Jorge Mendes and the agent is open to making the move happen. But negotiations will only start when Rodriguez exits San Paolo.

The release hasn’t quite gone through yet from San Paolo, as he is due a bonus payment before his contract is terminated.
