Lazio’s Ciro Immobile nearing Besiktas move

Italian international striker Ciro Immobile is on the verge of leaving Lazio to join Turkish side Besiktas.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport Immobile, now 34, is set to leave the Italian capital after eight seasons with the Biancocelesti, where he won the Coppa Italia and two Italian Supercups.

Despite his impressive goalscoring stats, that has seen the Neapolitan born frontman rifle in 207 goals in 340 games and which has helped him move up to eighth in the all-time top goalscorers in Serie A, new boss Marco Barone considers him surplus to requirements as he looks to construct a new-look side at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio patron Claudio Lotito was keen to point out on Monday, that no official offers had been received, but the pink journal is convinced that Immobile’s future lies outside of Serie A.

It’s understood that Lazio are looking for offers in the region of €5M for Immobile, who still has two years to run on his current deal in the Eternal City.
