Lazio striker Ciro Immobile is reportedly on the cusp of finalizing a shocking move to Besiktas.

While the Biancocelseti captain was tipped to stay at Formello for a ninth season, this breaking news seemingly came out of the blue. La Lazio Siamo Noi, among others, is reporting the story, suggesting that the transfer could be imminent.

The source claims Besiktas already has an agreement with the 34-year-old over personal terms. Immobile would sign a lucrative deal that would allow him to pocket €7.5 million per season. The report adds that the Euro 2020 could land in Istanbul in the coming hours.

Immobile Linked with Shock Besiktas Transfer

Nevertheless, the source notes that the Turkish giants still have to find an accord with Lazio president Claudio Lotito. After all, Immobile still has a contract valid until 2026.

So while Besiktas were initially hoping to sign the player on a free transfer, Lotito is looking to collect a figure between €8M and €10M. This would allow the capital side to pursue a replacement.

Moreover, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà confirms that Besiktas’ interest in Immobile is both real and concrete. So it remains to be seen if Immobile will leave Lazio after eight unforgettable years at the Stadio Olimpico. He could depart as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer with 207 strikes from 340 matches.
