Lazio Add Arsenal Outcast to Left-Back Shortlist

Lazio have reportedly inquired about Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares who is searching for a new club this summer.

The 24-year-old made a name for himself at Benfica before earning a move to North London in the summer of 2021. However, he only spent one forgettable campaign at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners then sent him on loan to Olympique Marseille in the following season. and Nottingham Forest last term.

The Portuguese has now returned to Arsenal, but with only one year left on this contract, the Premier League runners-up will be seeking a definitive solution this summer, and a move to Serie A could be on the cards.

Lazio Inquire about Arsenal Left-Back Nuno Tavares

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio requested information about Tavares in a meeting with the player’s agents. As the transfer guru explains, the former Benfica star represents an opportunity for the Biancocelesti who are looking to bolster their fullback department. However, he isn’t considered to be a priority for the Italian capital club.

Lazio have been closing in on a deal with Hellas Verona for Juan Cabal who’s reportedly the club’s primary target for the left-back role. The 23-year-old Colombian had already impressed under the guidance of new Biancoceleste coach Marco Baroni last season.
