Lazar Samardzic set for Atalanta medical tomorrow

Serbian midfielder Lazar Samardzic is set to have his medical at Atalanta, ahead of his move from Udinese.

Atalanta initially seemed close to signing Celtic’s Matt O’Riley but they seem to have failed in that regard after Celtic’s asking price rose.

But they have now quickly sealed a move for Samardzic, who was previously linked with Inter and Juventus.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that La Dea have closed their move for the midfielder, who will arrive on a permanent deal. Udinese will earn €20 million plus bonuses, with Atalanta’s four bids having been rejected by Celtic for O’Riley. Samardzic will undergo his medical tomorrow.

This will impact Atalanta’s sale of Teun Koopmeiners but it doesn’t force them to do anything. It comes down to them, but they are considering the bid on the table by Juventus. A previous bid has been rejected but a new one is already on the table.
