Latest Barcelona debutant injured in recent warm-up for the subsidiary
The primary concern for FC Barcelona during any ongoing international break remains that of potential injuries. It is a recurring theme for players to often get injured while they are away for international duty with their respective countries. However, not every injury that Barcelona is having to worry about has come due to that.
The most recent casualty looked to be Dani Olmo as he was recently subjected to medical tests following the confirmation from Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente that he had indeed suffered a hard knock. However, it seems that Olmo has been succeeded by another Barcelona player as the latest player to pick up a potential injury.
Ahead of the Primera RFEF game between subsidiary side Barcelona Atletic and Ourense, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, 19-year-old Barça defender Sergi Dominguez was reportedly hurt or suffered from discomfort during the warm-up before the game and ended up having to be replaced in the starting eleven.
A definite starter otherwise, the talented young defender is someone who has great control over the ball and his composure is simply remarkable for his age. Furthermore, he was also the latest player to make his debut for the Barcelona first team as he featured in the final minutes during the 7-0 thrashing of Real Valladolid.
Moreover, the player seems to have earned the trust of Hansi Flick and his chances with the first team look to be a constant this season. He showed glimpses of his talent against Real Valladolid and he seems to be shaping up to be a great defender in the making.
However, it is still too soon to judge the exact extent of his injury and if it even is one in the first place. The only information currently available is that the knock was bad enough to keep him from playing and further tests will likely reveal the exact extent and severity of what he is currently dealing with.
