There’s a reason Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has won a Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award. Over his 15 seasons in the NFL, Fitzgerald has developed a reputation as someone who gives back and helps others.

That’s why it was no surprise when the 35-year-old receiver posted this note on social media Tuesday morning:

Fitzgerald is buying every single meal at Casella’s Italian Delicatessen in Scottsdale between noon and 5 p.m. That money will go toward helping owner Joe Casella and his family. Casella has terminal cancer.

Casella’s Italian Delicatessen has been a fixture in the area. The family-owned business was opened by Joe Casella and his wife, Tina, in 1977, according to KTAR News.

Fitzgerald, running back D.J. Foster and wide receiver Christian Kirk are expected to stop by the deli Tuesday to thank patrons who donate to the family.

People who are unable to make it can still contribute by mailing a donation to the deli.
