Lamine Yamal publicly calls Spanish teammate to Barcelona

Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal has on Thursday reiterated his hopes of a compatriot and close friend linking up with him at club level for next season.

The player in question? Athletic Club’s Nico Williams.

The name of wide-man Williams has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for some time now.

This comes amid widespread confirmation that the 21-year-old is one of a number of options to have been earmarked as a target to reinforce the attacking ranks of incoming Barca head coach Hansi Flick.

Williams, for his part, is currently away on international duty with Spain, at Euro 2024.

And, as alluded to above, amidst as much, the explosive winger has today essentially been recommended to Barcelona by one of his compatriots.

Speaking in an interview with Prensa Ibérica, as cited by Diario Sport, on Thursday, Lamine Yamal, a close friend of Nico, was drawn on the potential arrival of his attacking partner-in-crime at the Camp Nou.

And the Blaugrana prodigy went on to admit:

“I hope Nico can come to Barça.”
