The representatives of Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal have moved to take advantage of his ever-increasing prominence on the world stage, to secure further financial compensation from the club.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have this week provided an insight into the situation.

Jorge Mendes, Lamine’s agent, recently made contact with the board at the Camp Nou, to request an adjustment to the financial details of his client’s contract.

As much of course comes fresh off the 17-year-old’s explosion onto the world stage at Euro 2024.

Lamine’s current terms were signed upon the winger turning 16 last year, a three-year agreement through the summer of 2026.

A verbal accord is also in place, for the prodigious attacker to sign for a further four years, through 2030, upon the expiry of his current deal.

With his emergence as world football’s standout young talent, however, have come inevitable fresh demands.

As per Sport:

‘For several weeks now, Lamine’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has warned Barça that it would be fair and necessary to readjust the player’s contract.’

The super agent ‘wants to bring forward all kinds of deadlines so that Lamine can adapt his performance and income.’

And, crucially, it is also noted that Blaugrana president Joan Laporta has every intention of making the adjustments required to keep the club’s crown jewel feel aptly valued, ‘promising an economic effort capable of satisfying all parties’.
