Chelsea have just brought in Marc Guiu from Barcelona, activating his €6m release clause last week, but he could be on his way back to Spain. Shortly after he signed for the Blues, he was linked with a loan move to Sevilla, and it appears that is still on the agenda.

Guiu was reportedly of interest to Sevilla while he was still at Barcelona, and MD say that Chelsea believe a year-long loan to Andalusia could be beneficial, due to the competition for places for him at Stamford Bridge. Sevilla have holes to fill up front, with Isaac Romero set to be there, but Youssouf En-Nesyri and Rafa Mir on the exit ramp. There he would also encounter former Barcelona academy manager Garcia Pimienta.

The 18-year-old was impressive in the cameo appearances that he had for the Blaugrana next season, scoring twice in seven appearances, just one of which was a start. Guiu still remains rather untested in senior football though, and making an immediate jump to Chelsea is not as easy as it would be going into the Barcelona first team, given the setup and pathway he’s taken to get there.
