Today was a special day for millions of Real Madrid fans across the globe, as they witnessed the presentation of Kylian Mbappe.

The Frenchman was unveiled as the Real Madrid player in front of a jam-packed Santiago Bernabeu. Shortly after the presentation, Mbappe also addressed the media in his first-ever press conference as a Real Madrid player.

When will Mbappe debut for Real Madrid?

In that presser, Mbappe spoke about his potential debut for Real Madrid as well as his fitness going forward.

While he didn’t specify an exact debut date, Mbappe mentioned his readiness for the UEFA Super Cup clash, which is scheduled for August 14, with Real Madrid slated to face Atalanta.

“I’m sure I’ll play in the Super Cup, but it depends on the coach. I will be ready,” he said, hinting that fans might not have to wait long to see him in action.

“It would be the first title and I’m looking forward to playing. But that question is for the coach,” he added.

Mbappe: A doubt for the US tour?

It must be noted that Mbappe suffered a broken nose during Euros. When asked whether he will be undergoing nose surgery, the forward stated that everything will depend on the club.

“We spoke this morning with the club’s medical team and we will wait for the results. Then we will see what to do,” he said.

The Frenchman, though, did offer a rather coy response when asked about his availability for the pre-season tour to the United States.

“Regarding the tour, we will see with the coach and the club. If they want me to go, I’ll go, if not, I won’t go. I will listen to the club,” he said.

It must be noted that Dani Carvajal and Jude Bellingham have already been ruled out for the US tour, on account of their extended break following a prolonged Euro campaign.

Whether or not Mbappe, too, will be given a breather remains to be seen.
