Kylian Mbappé is officially a Real Madrid player

At long last, Kylian Mbappé (25) is officially a Real Madrid player. The France captain announced that, after seven years with Paris Saint-Germain, he would be leaving the French champions upon the expiry of his contract. In June, Real Madrid announced what everyone already knew – Mbappé would move to the Bernabeu this summer.

However, the move has, until now, not been official. Until the end of June, Mbappé was still under contract at PSG and therefore officially a Parisien, even if the club had already stopped paying him. This meant, notably, that Real Madrid could not sell Mbappé-printed shirts. However, with June ending and July beginning, Mbappé’s contract with Les Parisiens has now officially expired.

The AS Monaco academy product, currently on international duty with Les Bleus at Euro 2024, is expected to be presented as a Real Madrid player later this month, on July 16th, two days after the conclusion of Euro 2024 in Germany.
