Kylian Mbappé Joins Lionel Messi in Impressive Champions League Milestone
Former Paris Saint-Germain standout Kylian Mbappé scored the opening goal for Real Madrid in their UEFA Champions League match against Atalanta. Moreover, that goal allowed him to join another former PSG teammate in a historical feat.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride for the Frenchman this season in the Spanish capital after moving from PSG to Real Madrid this past summer as a free agent. There are moments when the player looks to be settling in and then there are instances where his arrival could spell disaster.
Nonetheless, on Tuesday, the 25-year-old became the second youngest player behind Lionel Messi in an impressive Champions League stat.

The Mbappé goal against Atalanta allowed the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner to become the second youngest player to score 50 career UCL goals at 25 years, 11 months, and 20 days, following Messi, who reached the milestone at 24 years and 284 days.

Despite this achievement, the night for Mbappé was cut short as the winger left the match midway through the first half after suffering an injury.
