Kyle Lowry says he can't feel his injured thumb during play

With the NBA Finals just around the corner, Raptors fans are getting an idea of the kind of pain Kyle Lowry has been dealing with in his injured thumb.

The Raptors point guard recently made an appearance on ESPN’s The Jump, sharing details on the extent of the injury, which he suffered in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers.

“It’s about passing. I’m a big passer,” Lowry said on the show. “You know, the flicking of the passing, the kind of — the ball movement, handling the ball. During the game, honestly, I can’t feel my thumb.

“I’ll have to take care of it after the season but I don’t want to talk about it as much. I haven’t complained about it, I won’t complain about it, I don’t care about it; I’m going to continue to do the things I need to do to make sure I can play at a high level. And that’s it.”

The Raptors are set to embark on their first NBA Finals in franchise history and they owe a great deal of that to Lowry’s play in the postseason. Lowry averaged 14.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists, shooting 44.4 percent from the field, during the East playoffs.
