Kyle Lowry laughs at DeMar DeRozan comparing himself to Neo

DeMar’s got jokes.
DeMar’s got jokes.

Fuelling the Raptors to a 130-119 win in Game 2, DeMar DeRozan played like a man possessed, dropping 37 points on the hapless Washington Wizards.

The four-time All-Star led Toronto to its first 2-0 playoff series lead in franchise history, shooting 14-of-23 from the field including three 3-pointers. He methodically broke down the Wizards defence, showing an offensive attack that at times looked as though he was watching the play develop in slow motion.

DeRozan, who appears to be a Keanu Reeves fan, had his starting point guard in stitches when he was asked about his stellar performance in Game 2.

Kyle Lowry got quite the kick out of DeRozan’s “Matrix” reference, but the post-game comedy show wasn’t done there. Lowry went from laughing at DeRozan’s jokes to dropping a few of his own, throwing some subtle shade at his friend and teammate.

The boys appear to be having fun, and Raptors fans are surely sharing the joy. After earning the No. 1 seed in the East, the Raptors are proving all of the haters wrong while cementing their status as clear-cut contenders to come out of the Eastern Conference. Just like Neo before him, DeRozan is convincing us of a new reality, one where the Raptors appear to be on the fast track to the NBA Finals.
