Kyle Lowry gets massive ovation, epic tribute video in return to Toronto
The greatest Raptor of all-time came home to a hero's welcome.
Kyle Lowry returned to Toronto on Sunday to take on the Raptors for the first time since being traded to the Miami Heat last offseason. It didn’t take long for things to get sappy, as the Raptors displayed a tribute video for their former star guard on the arena’s jumbotron prior to tip-off. Lowry brought his two sons out on the court to share in the festivities.

Earlier in the day, Toronto mayor John Tory shared a video message for Lowry, proclaiming Sunday as "Kyle Lowry Day" in the city.
Welcoming @Klow7 back to our city and officially proclaiming today as Kyle Lowry Day in Toronto!
Thankful for everything he did on and off the court during his time with the #Raptors!

Lowry suited up for 601 games over nine seasons with the Raptors, averaging 17.5 points, 7.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 42.5 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from three-point range.
The 36-year-old was named to six consecutive all-star games with Toronto, as well as the 2015-16 All-NBA third team. After years of strong seasons ending in playoff heartbreak, Lowry finally helped lead the Raptors to an NBA Championship in 2019.
Last offseason, the Philadelphia native was traded to Miami for Goran Dragic and Precious Achiuwa, ending a memorable stint in Toronto and closing an unforgettable chapter in the franchise’s history.
