Kris Bryant surprises kids at hospital, is greeted with sweet marriage proposal

In his relatively short career, Kris Bryant has already established himself as one of MLB’s brightest superstars on the field.

More importantly, the Chicago Cubs slugger has also established himself as one of the game’s most genuine and kind-hearted representatives off the diamond. Those attributes were on display again on Wednesday as Bryant, along with his wife, Jess, surprised young patients at Advocate Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill.

According to MLB.com’s Carrie Muskat, the kids were overjoyed to see the Bryants, greeting both of them with warm hugs and Kris with at least one marriage proposal that melted everyone’s heart.

How great is that?

And really, how great is Jess Bryant for not only always being by her husband’s side when he attends these events, but for allowing fans to share these moments that obviously mean so much to them.

The Bryants and the Cubs aren’t alone when it comes to players and teams giving back to their respective communities. The league as a whole is very good about giving its time and energy to put smiles on faces. But there’s undoubtedly something special about the bond the Cubs have built with their community over the years, and perhaps even more so about the bond Bryant is currently building.

There’s seemingly no limit to the time he makes for Cubs charities, and it’s quickly making him one of the most endearing athletes on the planet. Wednesday was just the latest example. We’re sure plenty more will follow.
