Philipp Grubauer was absent from practice yesterday. HC Dan Bylsma provided an update during his media availability, mentioning that he suffered an "unfortunate accident" at home, that he is fine and that the expectation is that he will be back within the next couple of days.

His replacement, Stezka, is a 27-year-old Czech goaltender who's in his second season of professional North American hockey. Last season with the Coachella Valley Firebirds he posted a .914 SV% and a 2.48 GAA in 27 games. To begin the 2024-25 AHL campaign, Stezka has a .881 SV% and a 3.61 GAA, good enough for just a 1-5-0 record.
After tonight, the Kraken aren't playing again until Tuesday when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets. Daccord is the confirmed starter tonight and Stezka will likely be sent back down the the AHL following tonight's game.
Daccord has been stellar to start the season and against the second most potent offence in the league, he'll need to be at his best to give the Kraken any chance of leaving tonight's game with two points.
