Kraken Rally With Two Goals In 24 Seconds To Defeat Ducks in Anaheim.
Anaheim, CA - The Anaheim Ducks hosted the Seattle Kraken on Monday for the first of two back-to-back matchups and their only meeting in Orange County. The teams will meet again in two days at Climate Pledge Arena, with the season series concluding on January 28, 2025.
Shane Wright returned to the lineup and wasted no time making an impact, breaking the ice for the Kraken with his second goal of the season. At 7:12, Wright fired a shot off Ducks goalie Lukas Dostal, with assists from Oliver Bjorkstrand and Ryker Evans.

Trevor Zegras answered back, tying the game with a sharp-angle shot that beat Kraken goalie Joey Daccord. In the scramble, Adam Larsson nearly lost his balance trying to defend the net. Moments later, Tye Kartye hammered the post, narrowly missing a go-ahead goal for the Kraken, before a brief scuffle broke up the play.
Joey Daccord appeared to be struggling with discomfort in the second period after attempting to block the Ducks' second goal, a strike from Frank Vatrano. The goal was set up by former Everett Silvertips Olen Zellweger and Troy Terry, who earned the assists.
A brawl erupted at 4:37 between Tye Kartye, Trevor Zegras, and Radko Gudas after a hit on the Ducks' Leo Carlsson, which sent him crashing accidentally into Anaheim's net. The altercation resulted in offsetting penalties, creating a 5-on-5 situation: Kartye (interference against Leo Carlsson), Gudas (roughing against Kartye), Zegras (slashing against Kartye), and Troy Terry (minor penalty).

Seattle exploded out of the gate in the third period, scoring two goals just 24 seconds apart. First, Andre Burakovsky netted his first goal of the season with an unassisted tip-in shot. Moments later, Brandon Montour unleashed a slap shot off an offensive-zone faceoff, with Shane Wright picking up his second point of the night for an assist. Montour’s goal gave Seattle a 3-2 lead.

The Ducks pulled Dostal in a last-ditch effort to tie the game, but the Kraken held firm, denying them any chance at an equalizer. Seattle secured the 3-2 victory, marking their seventh straight game allowing two or fewer goals—a defensive streak that continues to dominate.
Upcoming Games: Ducks @ Kraken Wednesday, Nov.27th (Climate Pledge Arena). Kraken at San Jose Sharks (SAP Center) on Friday, Nov. 29th and again on Saturday, Nov. 30th at Climate Pledge Arena.
