Kraken Prospect Set To Miss Next Eight Weeks With Upper-Body Injury

Seattle Kraken prospect Oscar Fisker Molgaard is set to miss the next eight weeks with an upper-body injury.

On Sunday, his SHL team, HV71, announced that Fisker Molgaard sustained an upper-body injury in the season opener. The 19-year-old was beginning his third SHL season with the club and was expected to play a larger role with the team.

The Danish centre struggled to start the 2023-24 season but turned it around and the Kraken rewarded him by signing him to a three-year, entry-level contract. Fisker Molgaard was part of Denmark's 2024 World Championship roster and was also a part of the team that recently qualified for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

The injury news is upsetting for him and the Kraken as he has quickly risen up the Kraken's prospect rankings. His smooth skating and high hockey IQ have made him a reliable 200-foot player. The 2023 second-round pick was looking to add more elements to his offensive game this season but will have to put it on hold for the next two months.
