Kraken Prospect Returning From Two-Month Injury Absence

Seattle Kraken prospect Oscar Fisker Molgaard is returning to HV71's lineup today after suffering an upper-body injury that kept him out for two months.

The 19-year-old sustained the injury in the team's season opener. After a great second half of the 2023-24 season, Fisker Molgaard not only earned more ice time and a larger role with his SHL club but earned his entry-level contract with the Kraken. Additionally, Fisker Molgaard was part of Denmark's 2024 World Championship roster and a member of the team that recently qualified for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

The injury news was unfortunate, as the Hjørring, DEN native was entering the new season with loads of confidence. The Kraken used the 52nd overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft on him because they believed that there was more offence to his game. He's been a reliable two-way centre who has shown flashes of an all-around offensive game. With still plenty of time in the SHL season, Fisker Molgaard still has the opportunity to hone his game before making the jump to North American hockey and joining the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Molgaard is listed at 6'0, 168 lbs but claims due to the injury he's taken time to add roughly 9 lbs. The added size will make him harder to deal with around the boards and in front of the net, all while maintaining the foot speed to out-skate his opponents.
