Kraken Prospect Named One Of The Top 10 Standout World Juniors Performers

Seattle Kraken prospect Eduard Sale was named one of the top 10 standout performers at the World Juniors by The Hockey News' Tony Ferrari.

Playing in the tournament for the third and final time, Sale had the experience of past tournaments to help him dominate against tough opposition, finishing the tournament with a bronze medal, six goals and eight points including the winning shootout goal in the bronze medal game.

Not only was Sale's tournament impressive just by looking at his stats, but who he put those numbers up against increased it. He recorded goals against Sweden twice, Canada, Switzerland and Slovakia.

"In his third world juniors with Czechia, Sale buried the bronze medal-winning goal in the shootout for his third medal at the event. Sale wasn’t dominant from shift to shift, but he always found a way to show up when it mattered. Sale has been the embodiment of Czech junior hockey for a few years now, and he showed up when it mattered most. With a silver and two bronze medals to his name, Sale will be one of the most respected Czech junior players in history," said Ferrari.

The Kraken's 2023 first-round pick is playing in his first professional season in North America in the AHL with the Coachella Valley Firebirds where he's recorded four goals and 13 points in 23 games.

If he can continue to improve at being more engaged each shift and contribute in other ways than just goals and assists, Sale can become a very effective player for the Kraken in the near future.
