The Kraken Will Offer Free Prostate Cancer Screenings At Wednesday's Game vs. Nashville
Seattle, WA - Wednesday November 20th, the Seattle Kraken will hold a special theme night for Hockey Fights Cancer, now in its 26th year with the NHL, as the team hosts the Nashville Predators. Kraken Hockey Fights Cancer Night is dedicated to raising awareness, prevention, supporting patients, and remembering those who have succumbed to cancer. Men 40 years and older can get a free prostate screening by Virginia Mason Franciscan Health at a PSA blood test station set up inside Climate Pledge Arena during the game.
Cancer affects many in the hockey community and hits close to home for Jaden Schwartz and his family. Jaden Schwartz's sister, Mandi, passed away from leukemia in 2011 at 23. A Canadian hockey player, she was diagnosed in 2008 at Yale. In her memory, the Schwartz family founded the Mandi Schwartz Foundation to help match bone marrow donors for cancer treatment.
When Jaden Schwartz lost his sister, Mandi, to leukemia in April 2011, he and his family vowed to honor her by helping others find bone marrow donors.

This is the Kraken's fourth season participating in Hockey Fights Cancer. During Sunday night's home game against the New York Rangers the Kraken honored Travis Harth as the game's Hero of the Deep. Travis has personally raised over half a million dollars for men's health in the Northwest during his Movember fundraisers.
In addition to the free screenings, fans will be able to pick up "I Fight For" signs as they enter Climate Pledge arena along with free buttons and information packets on prevention and wellness. Puck drop is at 7PM PST and doors 5:30PM.
